Instant Replay is:
David Salav, John Cutillo, Mike Winter, Rafe Tangorra, Scott Arena, Sam Powell, and Justin Scheidling
David began loving music at an early age. In High School, David played 11 instruments, including guitar and many instruments in the brass family. After a long break, he picked up his guitar again in 2010, and with the help of some of Long Island's most talented musicians, has achieved success as a 12 string player, which is his passion. David is a founding member of Instant Replay, and has had the privilege of playing with many talented recording artists, namely Bobby Rondinelli, John Miceli, Amber Ferrari, George Cintron, Dee Snider, Danny Miranda, and Randy Jackson. He has been a special guest player with many local and regional bands such as Decadia Live!, Drop Dead Sexy, Buttered Soul, The 60's Invasion, Rock Stars From Mars, Amber Ferrari's Janis Joplin Tribute & Women of Rock and her Pat Benatar and Madonna tributes, and Bobby Rondinelli & Friends. David is also a partner in 89 North Music Venue - Long Island's premier destination for live music.
John started piano lessons at the age of 7 (being forced by his Mom to practice every day) and found after a short period of time that he loved playing music (Thanks Mom!) He played in bands throughout high school and college, then took a short break to start a family. After a short time he played in garage bands but found that playing in front of an audience and in larger music venues was so much more rewarding. His influences include Billy Joel, Elton John, Keith Emerson, Scott Joplin, Mozart and Motown. John has played with several bands in venues such as The Jones Beach Theater , The Paramount, The Best Buy Theater on Broadway, BB Kings, 89 North, Mulcaheys and KJ Farrells. He has also had the pleasure of playing on stage in Manhattan with rock and roll hall of famer Steve Miller. John is a founding member of Instant Replay, and is excited to play with musicians with such a high level of talent. He truly enjoys seeing the audience singing and dancing as the band performs!
Mike Winter is no stranger to the Big Stage. Hailing from the highly competitive New York Music Scene, for over four decades, Mike has expertly honed his craft and has headlined several of the most iconic National venues in Heavy Metal/Hard Rock history, including Limelight- The Rock and Roll Church, L’Amours East and West, The Cat Club, The China Club and more. Playing guitar and singing since the age of 7, Mike’s dazzling technical prowess and musical sensibility has garnered him invitations to audition for such highly coveted and high profile guitar vacancies as Guns N’ Roses and Enuff Znuff.
Additionally, Mike recorded all rhythm and select solo parts for We’re Stars Long Island 2020 - A Dedication To Our Front Line, honoring first responders and front line heroes during the recent Covid 19 pandemic, earning attention and praise from such notable industry institutions such as Eddie Trunk, http://Blabbermouth.net, WBAB and more.
Mike is a highly sought after session and live player, earning coveted sub spots with National Touring Acts Foreign Journey and Decadia
It has been said, Rafe Tangorra was born with Drumsticks in hand but many doctors would dispute that claim, so we’ll go with that he started playing drums at a young age! Rafe has toured with brother and Recording Artist, Nick Tangorra, as the band's musical director across the US. The pop duo's single “Boo Hoo” amassed over 27 million streams, reaching #1 on SoundCloud’s Pop Charts in 2016. This achievement earned them their first record deal with Epic Records. Rafe has shared stages with Fergie, Miley Cyrus, Nick Jonas, Megan Trainor, Shawn Mendes and more. Today, he still actively writes and performs with his best bud in the entire world, Nick. As a song writer, Rafe has worked alongside songwriters and artists such as Richie Canatta (Billy Joel), Damon Sharpe (Jennifer Lopez), David Brooke (Charlie Puth), Noby Sidez (Reservoir Publishing), Loote (Universal Media Group), and Carlo Colasacco (Shinedown). Rafe is excited to bring his experience to Instant Replay as he is no stranger to the group, watching them many times from the audience, and can’t wait to play with such fantastic musicians!

Sam’s professional music career started on guitar, found its way to bass and piano, and then somewhere along the way his passion for wind and brass instruments developed. He showcases his ability on all these instruments and more via his Christian music ministry, which features original jazzy biblically-themed songs. Sam is close to finishing his 3rd CD of original Christian music. Check out www.sampowellmusic.com for an overview of his ministry and samples of his music.
Sam is the bassist for two Long Island favorites, FM and Sir Duke, playing the great music of Steely Dan and Stevie Wonder. He also performs with Playin’ English on guitar, sax and keys, a band celebrating the music of Squeeze and Joe Jackson.
Trained in illustration and graphic design at The School of Visual Arts in Manhattan, Sam is an Art Director and Designer for a creative agency on Long Island. His artwork can be seen at www.sportraitz.com.
